How it works

  1. 01

    Someone tries

A pattern that opens no vault gets one answer: “No vault opens with this pattern.”

  2. 02

    It’s noted

The time of the attempt is saved on your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere.

  3. 03

    You find out

A banner inside your vault says how many unrecognized patterns were drawn. The full list is in Settings, where you can clear it.

Why the time is enough

Some vault apps secretly photograph whoever enters a wrong code. It sounds clever, but it means turning on the camera without telling anyone, storing pictures of people who may just be your children, and asking for camera access the feature doesn’t really need.

Sigilock keeps it simple: the time of each attempt. If two unrecognized patterns were drawn at 21:47 while your phone was on the table, you usually know who was sitting next to it.

What the person trying sees

Exactly what they would see if they had simply made a mistake: “No vault opens with this pattern.” There is no warning that the attempt was recorded and no counter on the lock screen, so the log never tips anyone off, and never reveals how many vaults exist.

The log keeps your 50 most recent attempts. You can clear it from Settings whenever you like.

Timestamped

See exactly when each attempt happened.

Stays on the phone

No intruder photos, no location, no upload. Just the time.

Discreet

Whoever tried only sees that no vault opened.

When it matters
You left your phone on the table during dinner. When you open your vault later, a banner says two unrecognized patterns were drawn while you were away.

Intruder log, answered.

More questions? See Support or read how the security design fits together.

Does Sigilock take a photo of the intruder?

No. It records only the time of each attempt. Secretly photographing people raises privacy problems of its own.

Are my own mistakes logged too?

Yes. Any pattern that opens no vault is recorded, including your own slips. Clear the log in Settings whenever you like.

Can the person who tried see the log?

Only from inside a vault. Someone without a sigil never gets past the lock screen.

How many attempts does the log keep?

The 50 most recent. Older entries drop off automatically.

Does a failed attempt lock the app?

No. Each attempt already costs about 0.7 seconds of deliberate work, which makes guessing slow without ever locking you out of your own vault.

Is the intruder log sent to Sigilock?

No. It stays on your phone, like everything else. Sigilock has no server that could receive it.
